The Geodesic Dome at Enniscorthy Community Allotments
At Geodesic Domes Ltd, we are passionate about creating sustainable and innovative solutions that support communities. We are proud to announce the completion of our latest project, the Geodesic Dome at Enniscorthy Community Allotments.
This innovative structure represents our commitment to sustainability, growth, and community, with support from Wexford County Council and the Department of Rural and Community Development through the #CommunityRecognitionFund.
The Geodesic Dome is a testament to sustainable design. Constructed using natural larch with anthracite grey detailing, it demonstrates our dedication to blending modern architecture with eco-friendliness. The dome's unique shape and orientation maximise natural light and ventilation, reducing energy consumption and creating a comfortable and inviting space year-round.
Beyond its aesthetics, the Geodesic Dome serves a practical purpose. It offers allotment members a dedicated space for gardening, meetings, and collaboration. The dome features a variety of amenities, including a kitchenette, workspaces, and a seating area, making it a versatile hub for all community members to enjoy.
The Geodesic Dome also houses a training centre where community members can explore sustainability, improve gardening skills, and connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for the environment. The centre offers a variety of courses and workshops throughout the year, covering topics such as composting, rainwater harvesting, and organic gardening.
We are grateful to Wexford County Council and the Department of Rural and Community Development for their support through the #CommunityRecognitionFund. Their recognition of local efforts, including welcoming refugees and newcomers from Ukraine and other regions, reflects their dedication to building an inclusive community.
We invite everyone to explore this unique space and witness the future of sustainability, growth, and community. The Geodesic Dome at Enniscorthy Community Allotments represents our commitment to a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
